Ritu is a leading Indian patent attorney, with a combined research and practical experience of over 18 years. She has a doctoral degree in biotechnology and is one of the most experienced patent attorneys in the country in the areas of biotechnology and biochemistry. Ritu has worked as a scientist and training coordinator in intellectual property rights matters for the Patent Facilitating Centre, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. She has also worked with US based law firm Lexadigm.


Ritu’s main areas of expertise are drafting patent specifications, prosecution, oppositions, revocations, providing infringement and invalidity opinions, patent searching and appearing in oral proceedings before the Intellectual Property Office and Appellate Board in respect of appeals and contentious matters. She is also an expert on plant variety protection and geographical indications. In addition, Ritu is head of our foreign filings department, and manages and supervises the filing and prosecution of our domestic clients' patent applications overseas. She also assists senior counsels and lawyers at various High Courts in the country as a scientific advisor for landmark patent infringement matters.

Armed with a master’s degree in biotechnology and very strong academic credentials with her undergraduate degree in biotechnology, zoology and chemistry (with physics as an additional subject), Aaysu now has 13 years of experience in the practise of intellectual property laws. Aaysu was involved in research projects in the field of molecular biology at highly esteemed technological and scientific institutes, such as the Bhabha Atomic Research Institute, Mumbai, and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.


Aaysu's main areas of expertise are the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in India, filing of PCT international applications, Indian national phase entries and their prosecution, patent searching, drafting and filing oppositions relating to patents and assisting senior counsels and lawyers at the High Court as briefing counsel and scientific advisor for contentious matters. Aaysu manages the rather large portfolios of many of our major clients and supervises and oversees the prosecution of Indian patent applications. She also regularly appears in oral proceedings for prosecution and opposition matters and routinely drafts and prepares full case briefs for senior counsels and advocates.

Aditi has a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Oxford and a master's degree in law from Columbia Law School. She is admitted to practice in India and the State of New York.

Aditi brings to the firm expert legal drafting and research skills. She works primarily in patent and trade mark litigation and contentious matters before the IP tribunals and Appellate Board, and she routinely briefs senior lawyers for the same. She also advises clients on data protection and cyber security. As a litigator, in addition to intellectual property and allied matters, Aditi also handles contentious work in relation to real estate, taxation, labour and employment laws. 

Aditi is often called upon by various government agencies and private sector entities for training and advice on compliance with privacy laws. She was also the only attorney under thirty to have been invited to a seven person panel chaired by a sitting judge of the Delhi High Court for the curation and production of a legal guide for survivors of sexual violence. She is a regular delegate at international IP conferences, and represents the firm at national and international seminars. In addition, she is a regular contributor to several international legal publications of repute.

Ashish has gained over 14 years of experience in law subsequent to obtaining a degree in business management, a degree in E‐commerce, a master’s degree in science (focused on physics and chemistry) and a master’s degree in applied chemistry. Ashish has considerable experience in drafting patent specifications relating to various subject matters. He handles and prosecutes a wide spectrum of patent cases, including electricals, electronics, automobiles, machines and machine tools, mining, landscaping and validation studies.


Ashish has also successfully prepared and prosecuted various designs and trademark matters. He routinely appears before the Intellectual Property Office for oral proceedings. Prior to commencing his practice at SNA, Ashish worked for TATA Motors Ltd., a leading Indian automobile manufacturer, bringing the benefit of industry experience to the firm.
